Panels and service upgrades in Chattanooga
The panel is the heart of the house, and most of what we do here starts with a question: does the house have room for what you want to add? We measure the load, look at the meter and the mast, and tell you plainly whether you need a new panel or just a new circuit.
A load check before any estimate
Permit and inspection booked by us
The power company's shutoff and reconnect booked by us

When you need it
Signs it may be time
Breakers that trip
Often one circuit with too much on it. Sometimes the panel itself.
A fuse box or no spare slots
Nowhere to add a circuit without doubling up.
A heat pump, charger or addition
New load needs room, and a load check says how much.
Lights that dim when the AC starts
The house is asking for more than the service gives.
A warm or scorched panel cover
Call 911 if there is fire. If it is safe, turn off the breaker, then call us.
Buying an older house
An inspector wrote the word panel on the report.
What the visit includes
Survey to inspection, in six steps
- 01
Step 1: We look
One electrician comes in the window Laurie gave you, looks at the work, checks the panel and takes photos.
- 02
Step 2: You get it in writing
The job in plain words, what is and isn't in the price, and how long the estimate stands.
- 03
Step 3: Permit and power company
We pull the permit and book the power company for the shutoff and reconnect. You don't call anyone.
- 04
Step 4: We do the work
Usually one crew, the same people who looked. The power is off for part of the day, and we tell you when.
- 05
Step 5: The inspection and the walk-through
Where an inspection is required we book it. Then we walk you through what changed, and you get a copy of the ticket.
- 06
Step 6: We clean up
Cuttings, packaging and dust come with us. Patching drywall and paint are listed as not included.
Questions about this work
Will the power be off, and for how long?
Yes, for part of the work. The power company's shutoff and ours are booked together, and we tell you the window before the day.
Do I need a bigger service or just a new panel?
A load check answers it. We write down the amps the house uses now and what you plan to add.
Who pays for the permit?
It is a line on the estimate, passed through at cost.
Ask what your panel needs
Send a photo of the panel and the meter, or book a visit. We reply in office hours.
